Headbangers' Tribute #3: Black Sabbath

Next band for our blog is probably one of the most succesful and mostly historic bands, not only for metal, but for the entire rock field. Ladies and gentlemen, who has never heard of Black Sabbath? Αρχείο:2011sabbath.jpg

Along with Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, Sabbath is considered to be the first Heavy Metal Band of all time, having actually formed the genre. Like most bands, the band members have changed several times over these 40+ years of existence.
Black Sabbath was firstly formed in 1967, but got their name two years later. The first members were:

Ozzy Osbourne

Active: 1969–1977, 1978–1979, 1985, 1997–present
Instruments: lead vocals
Occasional instruments: harmonica, synthesizer

Tony Iommi
.
Active: 1969–present
Instruments: lead guitar
Occasional instruments: piano, flute, acoustic guitar, keyboards, synthesizer, organ, mellotron












Geezer Butler

Active: 1969–1985, 1990–1994, 1997–present
Instruments: bass, synthesizers
Occasional instruments: mellotron










During these years, many other talented people joined the band, like 
Ronnie James Dio who replaced Ozzy from 1979 to 1982, the known as DIO YEARS, when Black Sabbath presented highly succesfull songs like Heaven And Hell, Neon Knights and others.

After 1982, Ian Gillan, the succesfull Deep Purple lead singer joined the band.
