Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal was a hole new music genre, developed in the late 60's and early 70's originated from UK and US. Having its roots in hard rock, heavy metal is characterized by highly amplified distortion , guitar solos , emphatic beats and heavy drum sounds. At its glorious start, people used to confuse it with hard rock and vise-versa. The first heavy metal bands such as Led Zeppelin , deep purple Black Sabbath attracted large audiences, though they were often derided by critics, a status common throughout the history of the genre. In the mid-1970s Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of blues influence. Motorhead introduced punk rock sensibility and an increasing emphasis on speed. Bands in the British metal such as Iron Maiden and Saxon followed in
a similar vein.
